History

GMB

GMP began as GMB (partnership with Blocker), operating two drilling rigs in the Laguna Zapotal project, where over 150 wells were drilled.

Carpitas-Zorritos

In 1990, GMP entered into an exploration agreement for the Carpitas-Zorritos lot in Tumbes. Approximately 300 kilometers of 2D seismic and geochemical surveying was done, drilling five exploratory wells, with Well X-2 reaching a depth of twelve thousand feet.

Lot V

GMP won the operating agreement for Lot V in Talara. That same year, we purchased two drilling rigs from Petroperú: Rig 8, capable of reaching depths of six thousand feet; and Rig 10, capable of reaching depths of fourteen thousand feet.

Lot I

In August 1994, GMP was awarded the operating agreement for Lot I in Talara.

Consorcio Terminales

In February 1998, Consorcio Terminales (a consortium formed by GMP and Oiltanking) commenced its liquid hydrocarbon logistics operations at the Eten, Salaverry, Chimbote, Supe, Pisco, Mollendo, Ilo, Juliaca, and Cusco terminals.

Internationalization

Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos Boliviana was founded, operating a 1,500-km system of multipurpose pipelines for the transport of fuels and nineteen plants for the reception, storage, and loading of liquid fuels. The multipurpose pipeline system transported 20,000 barrels per day and the storage plants shipped approximately 40,000 barrels per day until 2008, when the Bolivian government expropriated the assets and resumed control of the business through YPFB.

Marino Pisco-Camisea Terminal

Through an international bidding process organized by Pluspetrol, OTAS (a company created by GMP and Oiltanking) was awarded the operation of the Pisco-Camisea Maritime Terminal, located four kilometers from the Peruvian coastline, where propane, butane, diesel, and naphtha are loaded onto vessels.

LQS

In 2007, Logística de Químicos del Sur (LQS) was created by GMP, Oiltanking GmbH, and Santa Sofía Puertos at Matarani.

New Parinas Gas Plant

In 2008, the new Pariñas natural gas processing plant was built in Talara. The plant commenced operations in 2009.

Peru Terminals

Lots III and IV

On April 5, two new concession agreements entered into force for hydrocarbon exploitation in Lots III and IV. Both agreements were granted for a thirty-year term.
